Cold Spring Road in West Penn Township is closed due to a tree and power lines down across the roadway.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. when heavy winds felled a tree and a power line causing an area power outage.

The West Penn fire company is on scene and closed the roadway.

The scene is in the 500 block about two miles south of Route 443.

PP & L’s estimate of restoration of power is 11 p.m. for 100 subscribers. Several customers are without power in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County and Chestnuthill Township in Monroe County.

A high wind advisory is in effect through 6 p.m.
