Police: Driver clocked at 94 mph on Rt. 33

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported that no one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 10:47 a.m. Jan. 12 on Manor Drive in Hamilton Township.

The crash occurred when Josue Chiunti, 21, of Philadelphia, was operating a 2012 Nissan Maxima southbound.

Police said he was clocked at 94 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 33, after which they attempted to make a traffic stop.

Chiunti failed to yield for police and traveled on Route 33, exiting at the Snydersville exit, running a stop sign and crossing both lanes of Manor Drive before losing control of the car, police said. The car hit a guide rail and had to be towed from the scene.

Police said Chiunti was cited after the crash.
