State police at Frackville - crashes

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:

• Wayne D. Curry, 61, of Tamaqua, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a one-vehicle crash at 6:06 p.m. Jan. 10 on the 131 exit of Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2011 Ford that traveled off the right side of the road and hit a guide rail.

The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Police said Curry was evaluated at the scene by personnel from the Ryan Township Emergency & Rescue Squad.

• Ryan M. Navitsky, 46, of Tamaqua, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 8:50 a.m. Jan. 11 on Valley Road in Walker Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was operating a 2005 Dodge Ram truck southbound when it left the road four times before driving off the east side of the road and hitting a mailbox.

The truck then traveled off the west side of the road and hit a home before coming to rest. It sustained disabling damage, police said.

• Police investigated a hit-and-run incident at 12:01 a.m. Jan. 19 on Second Street in Coaldale.

They said an unknown vehicle struck a 2018 Ford Focus that was legally parked on Second Street.

The Focus had damage to its right side, police said.
