January 25, 1968 — Jim Thorpe receives pins from four of its wrestlers to help gain a 39-10 Tri-County League victory over Nativity. David Mueller accounts for the first Olympian fall at 105 pounds, while the other three come during the final four bouts. Ed Smith decks his opponent at 156, while John Cossman registers a first-period pin at 182. Steve Herman closes the match with 1:50 fall at heavyweight. Thorpe, coached by Angelo “Angie” Konstas, also receives decision wins from Pete Susko (114), Larry Feuerstein (122), Bill Cossman (129), Jake Llewellyn (135), Fred Ohlsen (147) and Danny Skrimcovsky (167).
