Man charged with disorderly conduct

Tamaqua police cited Nathan Grillo, 37, Tamaqua, with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct following a 1:43 a.m. Jan. 22 incident on the 200-block of Mauch Chunk Street.

According to police, Grillo was yelling and screaming, stumbling in the snow, pounding on a door, and set off fireworks.

When officers spotted him, he was covered in snow and had ice in his hair. Police said he showed signs of intoxication and was placed in custody.

While in custody, Grillo told officers repeatedly that someone tried to break into his home, possibly a “Blood gang member” who previously cut his throat.

Police checked his residence, which was secure. Grillo was taken to St. Luke’s Miners campus in Coaldale for an evaluation because he told police he had consumed alcohol and drugs.
