Northwestern and Palmerton both picked up league wrestling wins on Thursday, while the Marian girls basketball team upped its win streak to 16.
In other action, the Tamaqua girls swim team also picked up a victory.

Northwestern picked up five pins en route to a dominating 58-18 Colonial League victory over Catasauqua.
The Tigers’ quickest fall came from Weston Killar (114) in 1:11, while Chase Sukanick (133), Noah Griffith (139), Colby Townley (145) and Jackson Bailey (215) all added pins.
Braydon Uricchio (127) and Luke Fugazzotto (189) also picked up technical falls for the winners.

Aiden Ortiz (139) picked up a 17-second pin for the Bombers, while Josh Merkel (127) and Derek King (152) also gained mat slaps. Palmerton also received tech falls from Kellen Trotter (133) and Dillon Anthony (160).
The Bulldogs received falls from Cody Mazzocca (121), Dawson Newhard (189) and Cyrus Kinchen (285).

Four Marian players scored in double figures as the Fillies posted a 50-35 Schuylkill League victory over Lourdes.
Olivia Serfass, Deana Pugh and Addy Marek each finished with a game-high 12 points for the winners, who used an 18-9 third quarter to extend a one-point halftime lead.
Addy Fritz also added 10 points for Marian, which won its 16th straight.
For Lourdes, Kylla Sandri registered a team-high 10 points.

Blue Mountain raced to an early lead and held off Panther Valley for a 47-39 Schuylkill League victory.
Ruby Henninger scored seven of her game-high 16 points in the first quarter as the Eagles built a 16-2 advantage.
The Panthers, who cut the deficit to just four points at the start of the fourth quarter, received a team-high 13 points from Morgan Orsulak, while Lucy Kocha and Natalie Vermillion both chipped in with nine.

Tamaqua girls used three relay wins, and five individual firsts to take home a 108-74 Schuylkill League victory over North Schuylkill.
Savannah Wilson and Kate Behun each picked up two Raider firsts, with Wilson winning the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, while Behun took the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
The boys meet ended in a dominating 106-52 win for North Schuylkill.
The Spartans finished first in 11 of 12 events, with the Raiders only win coming from Vincenzo Valentine in diving.
