Church Benefit

St. John Lutheran Church of Tamaqua will have a fundraiser at Two Kings Restaurant in Hometown from 11 a.m. to closing on Sunday. St. John’s will receive 20% of the profits when those who order mention St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tamaqua.

Proceeds will benefit the upgrade of the church’s kitchen.

St. Peter’s West Penn

Worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, followed by Sunday school at 10:15 a.m. Girl Scouts meet at 6 p.m. Sunday.

On Jan. 31, the Cherub Choir meets at 6 p.m. and the Senior Choir meets at 7 p.m.

The Feb. 2 worship service will have the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Kim will share a message of God’s faithfulness through the power of Jesus at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Calvary Church in Lewistown. Special music will be provided.

Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m.

The 6:30 p.m. Sunday service will be under the direction of Terry Gerber who will share God’s word.

The Wednesday prayer group meets at 7 p.m. All are invited.

Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors meeting

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors meeting scheduled for Jan. 28 has been canceled.

‘Love Triumphs’ luncheon

A “Love Triumphs” luncheon sponsored by the Schuylkill Women’s Connection will be held at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 18 at Grace Free Church, 10 Hollenbush Lane, Orwigsburg.

Speaker Annie Friedrichs of Lancaster will talk about “Perfect Love Overcomes Inadequacy.” As a special feature, Gretchen Brinich of Penn State Master Gardeners will share tips on spring gardening. Music will be provided by Brenda Reed of Hamburg.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. The annual congregational meeting will be held immediately following the service.

Zion Men will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Hall.
