State police at Frackville

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:

• Police were called to an incident on Fourth Street in Coaldale at 7:41 p.m. Jan. 7.

The incident started as a verbal dispute and resulted in one person being sprayed in the face with “Bear Pepper Spray,” according to police.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.

• A person targeted in a theft by deception case reported the incident at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Frackville barracks.

Police determined the person was convinced to apply for a loan in the amount of $3,605.90 to finance automotive repairs under false pretense.

• Gary Bainbridge, 68, of Pottsville, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 3:21 p.m. Jan. 20.

He was stopped in a 2007 Chrysler on Valley Road in Cass Township, police said.

• A 52-year-old man from Cumbola was charged with harassment by physical contact after police responded to a reported assault case at 8:17 p.m. Jan. 1 on Township Route 751 in Blythe Township.

A 58-year-old man from Cumbola told police the 52-year-old man kicked him in the chest and hand.

• Johanny German Vizcaino, 22, of Delano, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 8:42 p.m. Jan. 3 on the off-ramp of Interstate 81 in New Castle Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2015 Jeep Liberty southbound when he failed to negotiate a right curve in the road, resulting in the Liberty leaving the roadway, traveling onto the east shoulder and rolling over an unknown number of times, coming to rest on its roof.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
