Plans for the anticipated annex to the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, were furthered along during a meeting of the hospital board of directors held last evening. Eugene Durigan, chairman, presided.

Plans for the new wing were authorized by the board and submitted to the state in hopes of securing a Hill-Burton grant for new construction.

The new addition is planned to provide an intensive care unit of six beds, an obstetrical department and extensive improvements to the pediatrics department.
