Jean Mendoza Collozo, 27, was cited with harassment by Tamaqua police following a 3:28 a.m. Jan. 8 incident on the 300 block of Market Street.

Police said they were called to a domestic dispute and spoke to Mendoza. He said that he had a verbal argument with his girlfriend but nothing physical had transpired.

When police spoke to the woman, she said she and Mendoza were arguing and he pushed her onto a couch multiple times and did not allow her to get up. She said he was throwing items in the house, including a knife, but not directly at her. She did not have any bruises, police said.

The woman noted that police were called to the residence recently for a similar situation. She said that Mendoza threw a bench at her, which caused a mark on her leg. Police said the bruise was still visible.

Police provided the woman with information on how to obtain a Protection from Abuse order.
