The Polk Township board of supervisors reorganized recently, renaming Brian Ahner as its chairman, and Michael Hurley as vice chairman. Carl Heckman is the third board member.
Ahner was also named roadmaster, with Rebecca L. Tippett to continue as secretary; Pamela Thompson, treasurer; and Tracy L. Herman, zoning officer.
The supervisors approved a raise of $4 per hour was approved for office staff.
In other action:
• Mileage reimbursement rate will remain at 70 cents per mile. Thirteen paid holidays in 2025 were approved for township employees.
• Russell R. Kresge, Keystone Engineering, was appointed as the township engineer at a rate of $137.50 per hour;
• Attorney James V. Fareri will be the supervisors’ and planning commission solicitor at a rate of $190 per hour;
• Attorney Dave Martino will be the zoning hearing board and nuisance hearing board solicitor at a rate of $145 per hour; and labor attorney will be David Steckel at a rate of $285 per hour.
• Johnathan Shupp is sewage enforcement officer, with Keystone Consulting Engineers to be his alternate.
• Millage rate, fire tax at 0.37%, and existing fee schedules were set.
