PADCO, Alvernia partner to boost Schuylkill

The Pottsville Area Development Corp. announces its partnership with Alvernia University’s O’Pake Institute for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship.

The strategic alliance provides comprehensive business plan writing services, technical assistance and access to revolving loan funding to support new and existing businesses in central and southern Schuylkill County.

PADCO President David Young, executive director of Schuylkill Community Action, said: “We are excited about the opportunities this partnership with Alvernia University’s O’Pake Institute will bring to the community. This collaboration will help local entrepreneurs access the resources they need to succeed, contributing to a stronger, more vibrant regional economy.”

The partnership will complement PADCO’s mission to enhance economic and social vitality in the region, leveraging the O’Pake Institute’s expertise in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

Together, the organizations will assist entrepreneurs with the tools and guidance needed to develop business plans and establish financial sustainability.

They will offer technical assistance to support the different needs of local businesses to take advantage of marketing opportunities.

Additionally, the partnership will facilitate access to PADCO’s Revolving Loan Fund, Operating Capital Fund and grants to initiate community and economic development projects that promote job creation and economic growth.
