The Joint Operating Committee of the Carbon Career & Technical School, Jim Thorpe, approved the budget of the proposed stormwater rectification project on West 13th Street in Jim Thorpe.

Jim Thorpe Borough will cover the cost of provided labor, equipment and landowner approvals, as presented. The borough will do the work using its labor and equipment, with the cost being $39,995.92.
The entire budget, including materials, labor and equipment is estimated to be $59,980.92.
The work is to rectify the two stormwater concerns identified by Jim Thorpe Borough in a letter dated Aug. 5, 2024. The borough will purchase materials and submit an invoice or invoices to the CCTI Business Office for reimbursement.
The project involves fixing stormwater draining issues on the CCTI property and on a property at 68 W. 13th St. Drainage pipes in those areas collapsed and stormwater collects on West 13th Street, causing unsafe conditions.
