January 17, 1974 — Nick Delong comes through with a 55-second pin at heavyweight to give Slatington a 29-26 wrestling win over Catasauqua. The Bulldogs, coached by Ron Sadler, take four of the first five bouts to take an early lead only to see the Roughies battle back to go in front with one match remaining. Delong gets a takedown right after the opening whistle and eventually uses a body press for the fall. Dave Kern (107 pounds), John Miller (114) and Earl Loch (128) also register falls for Slatington, while Mike Muniz adds a decision at 100.
