St. Peter’s West Penn

Worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday. Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m., followed by the Church Board at 2 p.m., and Girl Scouts at 6 p.m.

Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The Women’s Association of St. Peter’s meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. On Jan. 23, the Cherub Choir meets at 6 p.m., and the Senior Choir meets at 7 p.m.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

“The Chosen” will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday in the social hall.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Kim Leskovich will share a message of the love and care of Jesus in the lives of believers of Christ at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. There is no evening service.

Music is always a great part of Calvary Evangelical worship services, and folks are invited to come and join in singing. All are welcome.

The evening prayer group meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Jan. 9 with 26 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the invocation, “My New Year’s Prayer.” One member is housebound.

The secretary and treasurer’s report stand as read. One member is celebrating a birthday this month. The meeting closed by two members and bingo was played.

The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex.
