Rolando Corte, 42, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, was charged with first-degree murder charges on Sunday by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey with killing his wife, Lucretia Elizabeth Jadan Sumba, 39, whose body was found Saturday in a dumpster on a property in Coopersburg, Lehigh County.
Corte is being held at the Union County Jail pending his first appearance, which is scheduled for Thursday.
Officials allege that after he killed Sumba, Corte disposed of her body in the dumpster.
Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said Sumba was pronounced dead at the scene in the 200 block of South Third Street at 5:55 p.m. Saturday. An autopsy performed Monday at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center revealed the cause of death was sharp force injuries.
Jadan Sumba was found two days after her family reported her missing when she failed to show up for work.
