Washington supervisors OK renewal of junkyard licenses

Washington Township supervisors approved junkyard license renewals at their Jan. 8 meeting.

The renewals were: 6855 Old Grange Road, 3 acres, Mark Yeanish; 2861 Cemetery St., 3 acres, Siberini & Son Container Services; 6932 Jay St., 0.50-acre, Jack and Kyle Follweiler; 3148 Spring Valley Road, 18 acres, Clay Sauerwine; 4162 Best Station Road, 35 acres, Alan Celmer; and 4163 Best Station Road, 26.6 acres, Alan Celmer.

In other business, supervisors:

• Approved resolution 2025-01 dealing with tax credits to various volunteers for tax relief for their property taxes.

• Granted permission to Springside Sportsmen Club Inc. use of the Covered Bridge for the fifth annual Youth Fishing Contest. Fishing will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26. The rain date will be April 27.

• Accepted a letter of resignation from John Tarafas, code enforcement officer.

• Named Todd Lichtenwalter to fill the open seat on the planning commission.
