January 14, 2010 — Panther Valley receives multiple first-place wins from five different swimmers to gain a sweep of Mahanoy Area. Alexia Follweiler takes the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly, while Lauren Cormier captures both the 200 IM and 100 freestyle. The Panther girls, who win by a 97-71 score, also receive a pair of victories from Karoline Vavra in the 50 freestyle and 100 breastsroke. The PV boys swim to a narrow 53-50 win as Michael Sloboda (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly) and Jason Gates (200 IM, 100 breaststroke) both earn a pair of individual victories.
