Police investigate body found in Lehigh County

The death of a New Jersey woman whose body was found in a dumpster at a property in Coopersburg, Lehigh County, has been called a homicide by the county coroner.

Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said Lucretia Jadan Sumba, 39, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 200 block of South Third Street at 5:55 p.m. Saturday. An autopsy performed Monday at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center revealed the cause of death was sharp force injuries.

Multiple news sources reported Sumba’s body was found near the property of a Santander Bank branch off of Route 309.

In addition to the coroner’s office, the case is being investigated by the Elizabeth Police Department and Union County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey.

The Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office and the Coopersburg Police Department provided assistance at the scene, Buglio said.
