District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan reported Sunday on the death of a Lehigh County Jail inmate.
Joshua Moser, 34, of Slatington, was found alone in a single jail cell at 3:41 p.m. Saturday.
The Lehigh County coroner’s office ruled the death is a suicide.
An autopsy will be conducted on Monday.
Moser was discovered by staff who attempted to perform lifesaving measures and he was taken to St. Luke’s Allentown campus, where he was pronounced dead on Saturday afternoon.
Moser was charged in May 2024 with the death of 37-year-old David Hittinger.
Hittinger’s body had been dismembered and scattered in multiple locations.
Moser faced charges of criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.
An investigation by the district attorney’s office remains ongoing.
