Congressman Dan Meuser, R-9, has been named chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations of the Financial Services Committee for the 119th Congress.

Meuser, whose district includes all of Schuylkill County, released a statement after being named chairman.

“Thank you to Chairman French Hill for giving me the opportunity to serve as chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations,” Meuser said. “Under the leadership of Chairman Hill, we will work to advance the goals of the Financial Services Committee, the Republican Conference, and President (Donald) Trump.

“Our subcommittee will provide essential oversight and root out regulations and policies implemented by the current administration that have stifled growth and harmed America’s financial services industry. …”

Hill, an Arkansas Republican who chairs the Financial Services Committee, said Meuser will be an asset in his subcommittee role.
