Eldred Township reorganizes, sets meetings, positions

Eldred Township supervisors held their reorganization meeting Monday night. The following appointments were approved.

• Chairman of supervisors: Scott Clark.

• Vice chairman of supervisors: Susan McGinty.

• Secretary/administrative assistant: E. Ann Velopolcek.

• Treasurer: James Phillips.

• Public Works supervisor: Jonathan Gula.

• Right to Know officer: E. Ann Velopolcek.

• Township solicitor: Michael Gaul, of King Spry, Herman, Freund and Faul LLC, $185 per hour which is a $5 per hour increase.

• Planning Commission solicitor: Michael Gaul, of King, Spry, Herman, Freund and Faul LLC,; $155 per hour.

• Zoning Hearing Board solicitor: Chad Martinez.

• Solicitor for labor matters: David Stekel, of Fitzpatrick, Lentz and Bubba.

• Engineer: Brien Kocher P.E., of Hanover Engineering Associates Inc., rate set pursuant to the fee schedule; senior engineer rate, $143.50 per hour.

• Sewage enforcement officer: Hanover Engineering Associates Inc., Jacob Schray, Scott Brown, Luke Eggert, Christopher A. Taylor, Nadia Einfalt and Paul Saba; $99 per hour.

• Zoning and codes officer: Shawn Mc Glynn, of SFM Consulting, pursuant to the contract dated Aug. 9, 2016.

• Building code official: Shawn McGlynn, of SFM Consulting, rate of 70% of the fee schedule, contract dated Aug. 9, 2016.

• UCC Inspector: Shawn McGlynn, of SFM Consulting, rate of 70 % of the fee schedule, contract dated Aug. 9, 2016;

• Flood plain manager: Shawn McGlynn, of SFM Consulting, pursuant to the contract dated Aug. 9, 2016.

• Accounting firm to audit the township’s accounts for the fiscal year 2024: Kirk Summa, compensation not to exceed $6,250.

• UCC Joint Board of Appeals member: Bruce Gower.

• Vacancy Board chairman: James Leiding.

• Pocono Mountains Council of Governments representative: Susan McGinty.

• Voting Delegate to the State Convention: Scott Clark.

• Delegate to the Monroe County Tax Committee: Gary Hoffman.

• CJERP Regional Planning Committee, voting member: Robert Boileau.

• CJERP Regional Planning Committee, alternate: Susan McGinty.

• Earned Income Tax liaison: James Phillips.

• Earned Income Tax Appeals officer: Monroe County Earned Income Tax Collection Committee.

• Planning Commission (three vacancies): Scott Clark; two more people needed.

• Zoning Hearing Board: Jack Yarashas, 3-year term.

• Emergency Management coordinator: Gary Hoffman.

• Deputy Emergency Management coordinator: John Gula and Brian Stankovich.

• Primary Fire Protection for Eldred Township: Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co.

• Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company Fire Chief Approval: (Brian Stankovich)

• Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company board of directors: Ray Miller, president.

• Primary Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support Emergency Medical Service provider for Eldred Township: Lehigh Valley Emergency Medical Services.

• Community Center supervisor liaison and alternate: Susan McGinty and Scott Clark.

• Township administration and volunteer coordinator to the ETCC Board: E. Ann Velopolcek.

• Plant, Ground and Maintenance Emergency Response: Jonathan Gula, Eldred Township Public Works Department

• Volunteer Thrift Store management: Donna Deihl, manager; Peri Marando, assistant manager; and Lori Jacobs, administrative assistant.

• Township employees cost of living increases for 2025: 3%

• All other benefits are in accordance with the current Employee Handbook amended on Jan. 20, 2021;• Mileage reimbursement at the IRS federally allowed rate 70 cents per mile.

• Legal advertisements: Times News of Lehighton.

• Depositories for township funds: Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust and First Northern Bank and Trust.

• Bonded: James Phillips, treasurer, $1,125 ($800,000); Ann Velopolcek, assistant treasurer $435 ($200,000).

• Monthly meeting dates and times: Supervisors: 7 p.m., third Wednesday (except January); Planning Commission: 7 p.m., second Wednesday; ETCCC: 3 p.m. on March 6 and Oct. 2; Parks and Recreation Committee: 7 p.m., second Tuesday beginning on March 11.
