Allentown officer, ex-officer charged with rape, other offenses
Rape and related charges have been filed against a current Allentown Police officer and a former Allentown Police Vice officer, according to Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan.
Current police officer Evan Weaver, 45, of Weisenberg, and former vice officer Jason Michael Krasley, 47, of Upper Milford Township, are both charged with involuntary sexual servitude and rape, both first degree felonies; and misdemeanor charges of indecent assault, official oppression and prostitution and related offenses.
Both men were charged with raping and sexually assaulting the same victim following an investigation by Lehigh County detectives. The offenses occurred between 2011 and 2015. The statute of limitations for these charges is 20 years, according to the district attorney.
Weaver is also charged with sexual assault, a second degree felony. Krasley also faces charges of kidnapping, involuntary deviate sexual Intercourse and Intimidation of a witness, all first degree felonies, as well as a misdemeanor charge of criminal coercion.
Both men are in custody and awaiting arraignment at the Lehigh County Central Booking Center, according to the district attorney’s office.
Krasley was charged Nov. 15 with theft by unlawful taking or disposition of receiving stolen property — over $2,000, both third degree felonies, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, a second degree misdemeanor. He remains free on $100,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at on Jan. 29.
The district attorney’s office noted that the criminal complaints for both Weaver and Krasley are sealed and will not be released.
If convicted of charges of rape and involuntary sexual servitude, both Weaver and Krasley face a possible maximum sentence of life in prison. The investigation is ongoing.
