State police at Bethlehem - crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following accidents:

• Randy Phillips, 61, of Schnecksville, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a one-vehicle crash at 4:57 p.m. Dec. 3 on Lisa Drive in North Whitehall Township.

Police said he was driving a 2003 Subaru that crashed into property of a 52-year-old Schnecksville woman.

Police recovered a Colt Mustang firearm, a. 380 bullet and a silver and black magazine at the scene.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 6:51 a.m. Dec. 20 at East Main and on South Walnut streets in Bath.

Police the crash occurred when a 2018 Mazda3 operated by a 16-year-old boy from Bath failed to yield the right of way while negotiating a left turn on East Main Street and struck a 2016 Ford Transit driven east on Main Street by Gaige D. Accardi, 26, of Lehighton.

Police said both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.

The driver of the Mazda was cited, police said.

• William L. Fehnel and Patricia A. Fehnel, both 77 and of New Tripoli, were injured in a crash at 9:35 p.m. Jan. 4 on Old Mill Road in Washington Township.

Police said they were transported by personnel from the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Company to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.

The crash occurred when William Fehnel was driving a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe westbound and failed to negotiate a left curve in the road, police said. The vehicle traveled off the road, striking a traffic sign on the berm before continuing down an embankment.

Police said the driver was cited after the crash.

• Scott E. Boring, 60, of Allentown, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 3:01 p.m. Dec. 26 on Mauch Chunk Road in North Whitehall Township.

Police said he was driving a 2021 Toyota Corolla northbound when it proceeded through the intersection at Levans Road and was struck by a 2009 Mercury Milan driven by Terry L. Mariani, 67, of Schnecksville, who had a green light and the right of way.

Police said Boring sustained injuries and was evaluated at the scene by personnel from the Northern Valley EMS unit. Mariani was uninjured.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:37 a.m. Dec. 30 on Oakwood Lane, Washington Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Larry L. Arner, 71, of Palmerton, was driving the vehicle, with Susan Arner, 68, also of Palmerton, and a 9-year-old girl as passengers.

Police did not provide the details of the crash.

• Brendan J. Santiago, 26, of Emmaus, sustained suspected minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 6:36 p.m. Dec. 9 at the intersection of Route 873 and Hill Road in Washington Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.

The crash occurred happened when Santiago, driving a 2012 Honda Civic, turned right from Hill Road onto Route 873 in front of a 2014 Cadillac operated by Kevin J. Pletz, 57, of Schnecksville.

Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Santiago was cited after the crash, police said.

• No one was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at 7:15 a.m. Dec. 21 on Mountain Road, Heidelberg Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Gregory A. Hueston, 52, of Germansville, driving a 2007 Mack truck eastbound, sideswiped the side of a 2020 GMC Sierra driven by Justin N. Smith, 42, of New Tripoli.

Police said both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.

• Injuries were averted in a two-vehicle crash at 2:15 p.m. Dec. 24 on Route 873 in Washington Township.

Police the crash occurred when Sharon A. Reph, 69, of Walnutport, driving a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu south on Route 873, struck the rear of a 2024 Ford F-150 operated by Troy D. Wampole, 54, of New Tripoli, who was stopped in the lane of travel waiting to make a left turn.

Police said the Malibu was towed from the scene, while the F150 was able to be driven from it.
