Lehigh County Executive Phil Armstrong was at Washington Township’s monthly meeting on Tuesday to announce is will be retiring at the end of 2025.
Armstrong said, “It has really been great to serve all of you. I have really enjoyed the time we’ve had together. I will not be a lame duck. I will work right to the day they throw me out. I’ve said one of my goals is to make sure Lehigh County has been put on the map, and we have.”
“As you know the state has mandated that all radios need to go digital by 2026. Lehigh County has secured a bond for the purchase of enough radios for all volunteer municipalities. We will look to work an affordable payment plan for municipalities to pay the county back. We are the only county in the state that we’re buying the radios for your emergency people.”
He plans to visit municipal meetings up to the end of his term.
