State police at Frackville - crashes
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:
• Isaac D. Cintron, 32, of Chicago, Illinois, is facing charges after a two-vehicle crash at 9:17 a.m. Dec. 30 on Pine Creek Drive (Route 54) in Rush Township.
Police said he was driving a 2019 Toyota RAV4 and was fleeing police from another incident when the vehicle struck a 2024 Ford F-350 that was parked. Police said Cintron continued to flee police until he was apprehended.
Both vehicles sustained minor damage, police said.
• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 10:04 a.m. Jan. 6 on Skyline Drive in Blythe Township.
Police said the crash occurred when Larry G. Helwig Jr., 50, of Frackville, was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse southbound and lost control of it while attempting to slow down. The vehicle spun counterclockwise and traveled off the right side of the road, where it struck a rock/dirt embankment and turned onto its driver’s side.
• Bryson A. Von Lumm, 18, of Mechanicsburg, was cited after a one-car crash at 12:06 a.m. Jan. 2 on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2003 Saturn Ion northbound when he lost control of it. The car traveled off the road and struck an embankment. It had to be towed from the scene, police said.
• Anthony A. Rizzuto, 49, of Auburn, was after a one-vehicle crash at 8:08 a.m. Dec. 31 at the intersection of Fairview Street and Claremont Avenue (Route 309) in Hometown, Rush Township. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2001 Freightliner when he turned left to travel north on Claremont Avenue and the kingpin, or pivot point, on the truck’s trailing unit failed, causing the trailer to overturn and spill its contents onto the road.
Police said the truck had minor damage and the trailer had to be towed from the scene.
