Pa. State Police list holiday enforcement results
The Pennsylvania State Police have released crash and enforcement numbers for the 2025 New Year’s travel period.
From Dec. 31 to Jan. 2, state police investigated 425 crashes, including one fatal crash resulting in one death. Data shows 68 people were injured and 31 DUI crashes happened.
During those three days, troopers arrested 254 people for driving under the influence and issued the following citations: 2,707 for speeding; 383 for failing to wear a seat belt; 50 for not securing children in safety seats; 383 for seat belt violations; and 10,098 other citations.
Police said the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement Education Program targeted drivers who aggressively operated their motor vehicles in a manner that was dangerous to the public, including speeding, seat belt violations and child seat infractions.
Selective Traffic Enforcement Against Drunk Drivers and Drug Recognition Expert troopers focused on drivers under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.

Troop N (covers Columbia, Carbon, southern Luzerne and Monroe counties): crash data — crashes, 22; fatal crashes, 1; people killed, 1; people injured, 3; and DUI crashes, 1; enforcement data — DUI arrests, 25; speeding citations, 308; child seat citations, 17; seat belt citations, 54; seat belt warnings, 21; other citations 1,106; and self-initiated arrests, 17.
