Carbon approves 3% raises

Carbon County officials started off the year with increasing salaries for county employees.

On Monday, the county salary board, as well as elected officials, met during the annual salary board meeting to set the salaries for all county positions for 2025.

All motions included approximately 3% raises and passed unanimously.

Commissioners’ Chairman Mike Sofranko thanked the row officers and staff for working together during the budget process and understanding the constraints that the county had for this year.

He pointed out that while the majority will see an approximate 3% raise, some employees in a few of the unions will see a larger increase due to the fact that they had worked a few years without a contract and that had been taken into consideration during contract negotiations last year.

“Thank you all for understanding and keeping in the best interest of the taxpayers of Carbon County,” Sofranko said.
