A 37-year-old Kunkletown man took his own life in a Polk Township parking lot at 10:02 a.m. Sunday.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at 388 Polk Township Road, which is the address of the Cornerstone Community Church.

Police said there were no public safety concerns surrounding the incident.
