January 3, 1973 — Randy Kuehner’s fast break layup with just three seconds left to play lifts Pleasant Valley to a 72-70 victory over Notre Dame East Stroudsburg. Bob Altemose’s bucket with 20 seconds to play ties the game for the Bears but a foul sends the Spartans to the free throw line. After both shots were missed, Faron Frye grabs the rebound and fires a pass down court to Kuehner who puts in the eventual game-winner. Kuehner finishes with a game-high 19 points for PV, while Bill Lowenburg adds 14. Altemose contributed 13 and Tom Kresge ends with 12. Frye is the fifth Bear in double figures, netting 10.
