Coaldale Borough Council unanimously elected James Melley as its president at last night’s annual reorganizational meeting in the borough hall.
Prior to the session, Mayor Joseph Sharpe administered the oaths of office to newly-elected council members Thomas Richards, Michael Mellay, John Karnish and Michael Balazovich.
In addition to electing Melley, the board named Joseph Smarr as its vice president; Harry Hoffa, secretary; and John Pekoric, treasurer.
Ben Herring was named chief of police; Severin Velitsky, night patrolman; and Andrew Mikolay, superintendent.
Attorney Paris DeSantis was retained as solicitor.
