Bank marks 12th year with Toys for Tots
The Neffs National Bank was a designated drop-off location for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots drive again this Christmas season.
From Nov. 1 through Dec. 13, the bank, its board, employees, customers and local community filled more than 16 boxes of toys for the drive.
This year the need for contributions was at an all-time high, with a local goal of reaching 100,000 toys.
“For the past 12 years we’ve been proud to be a part of such an impactful program,” said Kevin Schmidt, president and CEO of The Neffs National Bank. “The response from our local community has been overwhelming, and we are so thankful for their support. This year we raised a record high of 16 boxes of toys, games and books plus four bicycles and two scooters.
“We have been told that we are one of the largest collection sites in the Lehigh Valley, and we look forward to assisting every year. We have high hopes that next year, our 13th year of participating in Toys for Tots, we will be able to beat this year’s record.”
Donations made locally stay local. According to the Toys for Tots Allentown drive Web page, last year 126,435 toys were distributed and 29,015 children were supported in the Allentown/Lehigh Valley area.
