Stockings for Soldiers raised $34K
As part of a partnership with Keystone Military Families, Blue Ridge reached out to the community to help support this year’s Stockings For Soldiers initiative, an annual campaign to ship holiday stockings to as many U.S. soldiers as possible who won’t be home for Christmas.
Blue Ridge announces that this year’s drive helped raise over $34,000 in monetary aid and over 2 tons of stocking stuffer donations to the worthy cause.
“I am thrilled to announce that Keystone Military Families has hit a new record with this year’s Stockings For Soldiers initiative by sending out 13,256 stockings to our military personnel,” said Cindy Mellinger, Blue Ridge marketing and community relations coordinator, as well as the Stockings For Soldiers central Pennsylvania project coordinator. “This project has always been near and dear to my heart, and we cannot tell the community enough how much we appreciate their support in showing our troops how much we care.”
Keystone Military Families’ annual Stockings For Soldiers initiative typically sends out 8,000 to 10,000 holiday stockings filled with food, hygiene products, holiday decorations, Christmas cards and other requested items. Monetary donations help provide the stockings and stuffers, as well as defray the shipping costs for the heartfelt care packages to reach military personnel all around the world who will not be home for the holidays.
