Monroe County commissioners
The Monroe County commissioners approved the following items last week:
• Sheriff’s Office overtime report for the period ending Dec. 1: Deputies, 24.5 hours; security, 83 hours; clerks, 12 hours.
• Area Agency on Aging: AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Advisory Board with a term to expire Dec. 31, 2027, Rosalie S. Richardson, Debra Kennelly and Madelyn Wisby; Memorandum of Understanding with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and AmeriCorps Seniors to continue RSVP as an authorized volunteer program from Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2027.
• Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug & Alcohol Commission: Professional services agreement for 40 hours a week of treatment and case management services from a drug and alcohol treatment specialist at Monroe County Correctional Facility from Jan. 1, 2025 to Dec. 31, 2025 for $72,140 to be paid over 12 equal monthly payments from the Opioid Settlement Funds; and to lead local opioid remediation from Jan. 1, 2025 to Dec. 31, 2025 for $76,268 to be paid over 12 equal monthly payments from the Opioid Settlement Funds.
• Children and Youth Services: Ratify an amendment to the existing proposed purchase of service agreement dated Sept. 4 for the period July 1 to June 30, 2025, reflecting a rate decrease to CRR Room and Board; a professional services agreement with CSI Corporate Security and Investigation LLC from July 1 to June 30, 2025, for $150,000 for a caseworker and investigation support services; purchase of services agreement with Children’s Choice Inc. from July 1 to June 30, 2025, for $200,000 for foster care services; and purchase of services agreement with ChildFirst Services Inc. from July 1 to June 30, 2025, for $190,000 for residential group home services.
• Advertise for request for proposals for the Community Partnership for gun safety branding and marketing services.
• Change order 2 with South Shore Construction LLC for $32,350 for additional ramp and wall demo, and recaulking of west wall of the parking deck.
• Master services agreement with Ring Central from Dec. 19 to May 19, 2031, at a rate of $11,531 per month and a one-time fee of $1,088 to provide cloud-based phone service.
• Payment of $24,427.79 to We Have a Choice Recovery House for Men LLC from the Substance Abuse Education and Demand Reduction Fund to purchase of vehicle and related expenses.
• Proposal from Kudu Creative in the amount not to exceed $262,917.20 for one year from Dec. 31 to Dec. 31, 2025, to perform a Fentanyl Awareness Campaign in Monroe County
• Approved the CSBG 2025 Sub-recipient Allocations as follows: Monroe County: CSS-Shepherd’s Maternity Home, $10,000; Family Promise of Monroe County, $75,000; Monroe County Meals on Wheels, $20,000; Pocono Area Transitional Housing, $33,500; Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network (new, for case management), $15,000; Pocono Services for Families & Children, $55,000; Resources for Human Development, $30,000; Safe Monroe (new, for day care for children of people in the program), $28,000; Salvation Army-Housing-Emergency Services, $17,282; Salvation Army-Housing-Direct Rental Assistance, $60,000; Salvation Army-Housing-Direct Utility Assistance, $18,607; Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation Commission, $7,000; total allotment, $369,389; Pike County: Center for Developmental Disabilities, $20,000; Center for Developmental Disabilities (Mental Health, new), $15,000; Pike County Developmental Center, $32,323; Pike County Human Services, $25,000; total allotment, $92,323.
• Information Technology and Services: Addendum to contract with Avenu for information technology services through Dec. 31, 2030, for $259,754.86 monthly from January 2025 to August 2025, and $260,527.06 monthly from September 2025 to December 2025 with years 2026 through 2030.
• Commissioner David Parker said the Monroe County commission working on the America 250 celebration for the county will hold a kickoff event at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 at Northampton Community College, Monroe Campus in Pocono Hall. This event bring awareness of the upcoming celebration to the public and encourage more people to join the committees to help plan it.
