Summit Hill Tax Collector Nathan Halenar has announced office hours and payment methods for taxpayers in the closing days of the tax year.

He said due to the way the holidays fall this year, the final remaining date for in-person tax collection will be Friday, Dec. 27, from 9 a.m. to noon.

While the office will not be open after Dec. 27, the tax collector’s mailing address remains P.O. Box 86, Summit Hill. Additionally, the drop box on the office’s front porch at 310 W. White St. remains an option for anyone seeking to make a payment in that manner.

The final day to pay taxes for 2024 is Tuesday, Dec. 31. All unpaid taxes after that date will be remitted to collections as, by law, the tax collector cannot accept any payments after that date. Halenar said it is imperative all mailed payments must be postmarked by that date. Anyone with questions is asked to email the tax collector at summithilltaxcollector@gmail.com.
