ON THIS DATE DECEMBER 21, 1976

Seventy-eight pints of blood were donated by visitors to the American Red Cross Bloodmobile that was stationed at Memorial Park in Jim Thorpe.

Martin Borosh was honored with a six-gallon donor pin, while Kenneth Ocker, a member of the borough’s police department, was credited with six gallons and four pints.

Receiving three-gallon pins were Dorothy Coppie and Raymond Beers, while two-gallon pins were presented to Ann Markey and Francis Marzen.

One-gallon pin recipients included Carol Howard, Aloysius Heaney, Joseph Marzen and Patricia Sandherr.

R.D. Dubs served as recruitment coordinator for the bloodmobile.
