A Nesquehoning man, who is known for his Facebook cooking page with his mother and an organizer of an annual Easter egg hunt for area children, is in need of a little Christmas magic.
Mike Nahaj, who for years shared his and his mom’s cooking through a Facebook page, Big Mike’s And Alice’s Kitchen, recently posted about hardships he has endured over the last several months, from the passing of his mother Agatha “Alice” in September to being hospitalized for 17 days over the last month.
A GoFundMe page was started for him, asking for any help to cover the costs of Alice’s funeral that he still owes, as well as his medical expenses.
“It’s been a downhill landslide for me,” he posted on the GoFundMe page. “I hate asking people for anything because I love to give to everyone and I will be on the giving end again soon hopefully.”
In addition to his cooking page, Nahaj has for the last two years organized a large Easter egg hunt for the children in New Columbus park, making and giving out over 200 filled baskets, as well as handing out Easter baskets to seniors at Maple Shade Meadows.
