Carbon County Environmental Education Center announces that the center will offer a Winter Solstice Walk at 6 p.m. Saturday.
This is a quiet, self-guided walk to the center’s bird blind and back, following a trail of luminarias that light the way on the longest night of the year. There will be a few stops along the way to listen for owl calls, with cocoa and cookies afterward.
The evening is free for everyone, with no registration required.
For more information, call the center at 570-645-8597.
CCEEC is located at the west end of Mauch Chunk Lake Park, along the Lentz Trail in Summit Hill.
