State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crash:

• Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:02 p.m. on Dec. 13 on Barnesville Drive (Route 54) in Ryan Township.

Police said Charles P. Chiao Jr., 85, of Mahanoy City, was transported by personnel from the Ryan Township Emergency and Rescue Squad to the St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, while Sharon R. Chiao, 80, also of Mahanoy City, was transported by Medic 303 personnel to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Police said the crash occurred when Charles Chiao, driving a 2015 Buick Encore, attempted to exit a parking lot of the Dollar General Store and veered into the eastbound lane, striking a 2019 Kenworth operated by Arthur M. Minnich Jr., 57, of Pine Grove.

• Wilkin Duran-Tineo, 19, of Hazleton, was cited for careless driving after a two-vehicle crash at 12:10 p.m. Dec. 10 on Interstate 81 in Delano Township.

Police said he was driving a 2004 Audi and was speeding, changing lanes to pass vehicles, when the car struck the rear of a 2021 Hyundai Tucson operated by Steven B. Tumicki, 69, of Norwich, Connecticut. The Audi caught fire. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Tumicki and a passenger were uninjured, police said.
