Monroe honors longtime workers
The Monroe County commissioners honored three people for their accomplishments on Wednesday.
Employees Robert Angradi and Martha Robbins were recognized for their decades of service to Monroe County. Both have retired recently.
Angradi was the deputy chief in the Monroe County Probation Department for 40 years.
Bernard Sikora, the chief probation officer, said he and the department have much gratitude for Angradi. He has been the deputy chief of the adult probation department since July of 1993, and started his career in the county in the Probation Department.
“We found 54 adult probation officers that came through under his tutelage,” Sikora said. “That doesn’t include the 20 that we have right now working under him, so his impact to the county is probably immeasurable.”
Commissioner Chairman John Christy said, “I think that the county owes you a debt of gratitude.”
Martha Robbins was the director of the Redevelopment Authority and worked for the county for 26 years.
“She rose through the ranks to become director for the past 11 years,” Christy said.
Robbins was honored by her department during a retirement luncheon for her.
Eagle Scout Zachary Robert Fritz also was recognized. Commissioner David Parker said he attended the Eagle Scout Court of Honor held for Fritz.
“He’s a very accomplished young man and we got to hear stories about his abilities in hunting and fishing,” Parker said. “I know him as a very talented musician.”
Parker said Fritz built duck houses and bluebird houses for the public golf course Glen Brook Golf Club.
