State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• Dimitrios K. Kalogerakas, 75, of Albrightsville, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:43 p.m. Dec. 11 on Scenic Drive, Polk Township.

Police said he was driving a 2016 Toyota RAV4 northbound during heavy rain that created poor visibility as the vehicle came upon a tree that was downed on the road.

The RAV4 struck the tree and had damage that required it to be towed from the scene.

Police said Kalogerakas was evaluated at the scene by emergency medical services personnel but refused a medical transport.

• The rider on a Kawasaki motorcycle that was involved in a crash at 8:41 p.m. Dec. 7 at the intersection of Route 115 and Meixsell Valley Road in Ross Township was injured.

Police did not identify the rider, who they said was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono.

They said the crash involved the Kawasaki and a 2018 Jeep Wrangler driven by Pablo E. Nieves, 62, of Kunkletown. He and two passengers, Kathleen A. Nieves, 59, also of Kunkletown, and Paul C. Nieves, 35, of Effort, were uninjured, police said.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Police said both operators were cited after the crash.
