State police at Fern Ridge

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 22-year-old man from Effort called police to a property on Shenkel Road, Chestnuthill Township, at 6:17 p.m. Dec. 2.

Police said he told them he sent full body naked photographs of himself to an unknown individual he met online. The person then requested various amounts of money from the man, threatening to send the photos to the man’s friends and family if not paid.

The man told police he sent money to the unknown person.

• Damian Fink, 27, of Lehighton, is facing criminal trespass and criminal mischief charges after police were called to 105 Sparrow Lane, Jackson Township, at 10:49 a.m. Dec. 6.

Police said Michael Fink, 47, of Stroudsburg, the suspect’s father, told police his detached garage was burglarized by his son, who kicked in the door, broke locks on the door and took property that he claimed was his own.

• Sergio Parrales Arreaga, 41, of Effort, and Sujeil Rodriguez-Rivera, 39, of Allentown, were cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to an inactive domestic incident at 6:02 p.m. Nov. 17 on Grand Mesa Drive, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said they engaged in a verbal and physical altercation.

• James Cannizzo, 66, of Effort, was arrested on charges of assault with a weapon after an incident at 1:59 p.m. Dec. 12 at 140 Daisy Lane, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he and Jason Kennedy, 45, of Effort, engaged in a verbal argument after Cannizzo confronted Kennedy about walking his dog on Cannizzo’s property.

Following the disagreement, police said Kennedy walked by his property a second time and another verbal disagreement resulted, after which time Cannizzo used a 2019 Toyota 4Runner to strike Kennedy and his dog.

Police said Kennedy was evaluated for suspected minor injuries by personnel from the West End EMS corps.

They said Cannizzo was arraigned and released on $15,000 unsecured bond.

• A 56-year-old Brodheadsville woman was charged with retail theft after police were called to the Shoprite store, Kinsley Drive, Chestnuthill Township, at 2:24 p.m. Nov. 5.

Police said she attempted to leave the store with a full cart of miscellaneous groceries valued at $282.27 without paying. They said the store’s loss prevention personnel stopped the woman. They said it was her second retail theft offense.

• A 23-year-old woman from Kunkletown is facing drug possession charges after an incident at 9:26 p.m. Nov. 27 at the intersection of Route 115 and the Gilbert Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was driving a 2018 Subaru Outback when she was stopped and found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• Police were called to a property at the intersection of Route 715 and Reeders Run Road, Jackson Township, when a handgun was found in the roadway.

They are asking anyone with information of who owns the firearm to contact them.

• A second incident involving a gun was reported to police .

A woman told police between that Oct. 31 and 3:37 p.m. Dec. 7, she lost a Sturm, Ruger & Co. gun at 1106 Green Mount Road, Chestnuthill Township.

Anyone with information about the lost firearm, which has a purple frame and a black slide with the serial number 372241583 is asked to contact police at 570-646-2271.

• A 60-year-old Brodheadsville woman, had $5,600 stolen from her in an incident reported to police.

She told them that between noon Oct. 12 and 1:03 p.m. Nov. 12 the money was stolen when multiple checks were forged from her account.

• A 64-year-old man from Albrightsville was targeted in a theft by deception incident police were called to at a property on Lenape Trail, Penn Forest Township.

He told police between noon Dec. 1 and 10 a.m. Dec. 2 he was contacted by someone who scammed him into sending three prepaid Apple gift cards valued at $850.
