Contacted recently, district Superintendent Angela Friebolin declined to comment.

“At this time I am not making any comments on any pending personnel situations,” Friebolin said.

Asked who is the current Palmerton athletic director, Friebolin again said she would not comment on any personnel situations.

Palmerton board President Earl Paules also said he would not comment on the status of the athletic director position.

The school board previously hired Kyle Porembo as director of athletics, as a Group Three employee per the Act 93 memorandum of understanding, at an annual salary of $83,200 prorated, effective Aug. 2, 2023.
