Heffley works to aid Carbon collect late payments

State Rep. Doyle Heffley has been working to help Carbon receive money it is owed from state agencies.

In an email Tuesday afternoon, Heffley said that he received word that the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2023-24 actual, as well as fiscal year 2024-25 advance payments were processed by the Bureau of Financial Operations on Dec. 13.

“The Treasury has up to 30 days to process,” he said, noting that the bureau requested expedited payment, but that is at the discretion of the Treasury.

Heffley added that there are a lot of reports and paperwork that the county needs to file to get reimbursed and that can be cumbersome.

However, to help work things out, he said that he is working on setting up a virtual meeting with the Office of Children, Youth and Families at DHS and the commissioners to discuss Carbon’s issues.
