Weissport pupils who attend the Lehighton Area Junior High School on Third Street will be transported by the Lehighton Transportation Company buses effective Dec. 20, it was announced by Mayor Albert Lichty of Weissport.

Students who will be using the bus to the junior high school will be dropped off at the corner of Third and Iron streets in Lehighton.

No free bus service will be provided after school, however, Mayor Lichty noted. The students must pay their own way back on the bus, find other transportation or walk, he said, suggesting students who must return to Weissport at the conclusion of the school day use the transportation company’s regular bus runs that stop at Reed’s Store on Bridge Street in Weissport.
