State police at Frackville

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 37-yesar-old woman from Cumbola is facing Dog Law violations after a house fire at 11:11 a.m. Dec. 7 on Market Street in Blythe Township.

Police did not provide details of the incident except to report that the woman agreed to surrender her remaining animals to the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA.

• A 36-year-old Allentown man was cited for retail theft after police were called to the Walmart store on Plaza Drive, Rush Township (Hometown) at 2:14 p.m. Nov. 24.

Police said the store’s asset protection personnel reported the suspect was “tag swapping” and not scanning all items at a self-checkout terminal.

The total of the items he attempted to steal is $187, police said.

• Joshua Minrod, 31, of New Philadelphia, is facing simple assault charges after police were called to an incident at 3:49 p.m. Dec. 5 on Valley Street in New Philadelphia.

Police said a 37-year-old man from New Philadelphia reported Minrod shoved him to the ground and struck him in the head about two times. The man had a small cut on the left side of his face, police said.

• A 36-year-old man from Brockton was targeted in a theft police were called to investigate at 11:53 a.m. Nov. 16.

Someone stole a package after it was placed on the man’s porch by a FedEx driver. The theft occurred on Mine Street, Schuylkill Township.

Police said the package contained an Apple Series 9 smartwatch valued at $400.

A 2022 Honda Civic is believed to be involved in the case.
