LDI to host third Annual Hometown Vintage Christmas

A fun, festive event right before the holidays is on tap this weekend in Lehighton.

The Lehighton Downtown Initiative will host its third Annual Hometown Vintage Christmas from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, said Bambi Elsasser, community operations manager of Lehighton Downtown Initiative.

There will be vendors, live music, food, 60 crafters, and activities for all, not to mention Christmas trees in the park, free horse and wagon rides (limited availability), and the LDI businesses in the Candy Cane Lane.

Santa Claus will visit from around 1:30 to 6 p.m. to hear all the children’s Christmas desires, and there will be an abundance of Christmas crafts and games for all the children to participate in while listening to live music.

New this year are glass blowing demonstrations, along with a Candy Cane Lane passport competition to win a huge gift basket, Elsasser said.

“Downtown Lehighton will turn into a magical holiday event,” Elsasser said. “Christmas waves a magic wand over this world and behold everything is beautiful and joyful.”
