Peters Elementary School book fair raises $10,400 for students

A recent book fair at a Northern Lehigh School District elementary school has answered the call.

Assistant Superintendent Dr. Tania Stoker announced at last week’s school board meeting that the book fair at Peters Elementary School last month raised $10,400.

Stoker noted that school Principal James Schnyderite said there were two donations that came through so that every student was able to get at least one book from the book fair.

One of the donations came from Jake Leibold, a parent of a student at Peters Elementary School, who said he donated the money to help some of his son’s fellows Peters Pups.

“Thank you, Mr. Leibold, for the generous donation,” Stoker said.

Stoker said the Northern Lehigh PTO also gave a generous donation and assisted elementary librarian and media specialist Kathleen O’Donnell with the book fair for the entirety of the event.

“Thanks to our PTO for helping to support our students and staff as well,” she said.
