The Jim Thorpe and Weatherly boys basketball teams both posted their first wins of the season Monday night.
The Olympians defeated Pen Argyl, while the Wreckers trimmed Schuylkill Haven.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Jim Thorpe-Pen Argyl
Pierce Gothard scored a game-high 20 points to lead Jim Thorpe to its first win — a convincing 59-31 Colonial League victory over Pen Argyl.
Aaron Curran added 11 points for the Olympians (1-3), who raced to an early 16-2 first-quarter lead.
For Pen Argyl, Mason Soos posted a team-high 10 points.

Five different players scored in doubles figures for Weatherly. Corbin Wagner paced the winners with a team-high 16 points.
The Wreckers’ Ian McKeegan tossed in 14 points, while Chance Stauffer, Niko Saldukas and John Donish all finished with 11.
For Haven, Max Heim poured in a game-high 24 points.
