Walnutport’s eighth annual Adopt a Tree/Tree Lighting is on Saturday.
The borough’s Recreation Board invites residents and business owners to participate in the event at 215 S. Lincoln Ave.
Starting at 2 p.m. there will be food trucks by Slide on By, and Coastal Cravings.
Balloons by Robin will be set up and hand out her creations.
Whispering Springs Horse Farm LLC, will offer pony rides.
Also, local firefighters will sponsor a Candy Cane Hunt at 4 p.m.
The tree lighting will take place at around 5 p.m.
Monday raised from the event will benefit the Recreation Board, and be used to fund future projects. All donations may be made payable to the Borough of Walnutport Recreation Board.
Trees may start to be undecorated Jan. 8. All trees and tree stands will be disposed of on Jan. 15. Any decorations/lights remaining on trees after Jan. 14 will be disposed of.
Motor vehicles are prohibited on the borough park. Guests are asked to park in the parking lot or on the street when they are visiting the trees or decorating their tree.
